Labioplasty
Women are born with a body which has been shaped beforehand. Same is true for their private parts. Whether to accept the abnormalities/ deviations from the standards from a cosmetic point of view is their choice. But many a time the problem is not only cosmetic but functional too. Such is the case of unilateral (one-sided) or bilateral (both sided) enlarged labia minora.
The labia minora are two folds of skin at the vaginal opening of women. Normally they are symmetrical on either side and are approximately 1 cm in breadth. Some women have larger labia minora either on one side/ both sides which impair their movement/ cause infections due to lack of hygiene/ get impacted and have a cosmetically unacceptable look in tight clothing.
There is no medicine to treat this condition but the patient may be very well relieved by surgical procedure called Labiaplasty/ Labia minoraplasty which can be done on a day care basis. It just involves trimming of the extra amount of tissue and shaping the labia minora to give it a normal, symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
