I have been under Mam's care since the day we planned our pregnancy. Its been a long journey since. I suffered from an ectopic pregnancy. Mam had been there through out, just a phone call away guiding me professionally , taking prompt decisions , giving the best possible care but at the same time never forgetting the emotional aspect of it. I am a proud mother of a baby boy today and I owe it to Mam. She has been there through out. As a patient what impressed me was the fact that she was always patient enough to answer all my queries , explain to me the steps of my treatment , her rational decisions and her guiding me through every step of the pregnancy. We always wanted to have a doctor, rather I can say a guidance who will be familiar to us in terms of Medical Treatment, where we can discuss our problems elaborately. We were able to find & first meet with Dr. Sebanti Goswami at GD Hospital in May,2018. After that under her supervision we had gone through step by step treatments & procedures to conceive but failed. We never lost hopes for a single day and always kept faith in her. We believed that she was the key to our success. She always motivated us. At last the Happy news came to our life on March'2020. When my hysterectomy was inevitable like any other person I had also some worries about post hysterectomy pros and cons.after searching internet I found that there is minimum restriction for a small time period and I chose it. Just few hours after the surgery I found that I had no pain at all and I couldn't believe that.But I followed the do's and don't s strictly which were advised by my doctor madam Dr SEBANTI GOSWAMI and I came to my normal life within a very short time span. Every woman should go for laparoscopic surgery if she has to go for hysterectomy and enjoy womanhood as before.

The concept of an Operation Theatre has scared me to bits till a certain age - thanks to the innumerable horror stories cooked up by the mother in order to discipline a rather over-curious and hyperactive child. I was told that people are taken inside the OT, chopped into pieces and fed to the spirits who hover in and around the morgue! As a result, till my early 20s, I desperately prayed to all 33 Crore deities if any of my relatives had to go under the knife.

Cut to 2020. I knew I had to get in touch with you, no matter how; no matter what - when my pregnancy kit showed a positive result. I had been under your treatment earlier and this time I could not think of anyone else. The journey of 36 weeks was not a cakewalk, especially the last three months. However, I had immense faith that I would be able to deliver a healthy child under your supervision.

Visuals of chopped patients being fed to spirits (in the morgue) kept crossing my mind the previous night. In a few minutes I was to be taken into that cursed room (the OT)! I went completely blank but managed to fake a smile (under the mask) in front of my mother before entering the OT. Only I knew what was going on inside the head.

What happened in the next 1 hour, totally changed my perception. It was perhaps the most calming and humbling experience. I had a strange feeling that I might have a son (although I ALWAYS wanted a daughter). However when I was showed this tiny, curled-up thing, it looked neither like a boy, nor a girl, but a roasted turkey (served as the prime delicacy of Thanksgiving Day)! I couldn't resist saying it aloud, to the utter surprise / shock of all doctors and nurses present. The OT burst into a roll of laughter! And the best part? It was Devipaksha and I welcomed a daughter! I couldn't be happier. She is named Aarya (one of Devi Durga's 108 names)

I am extremely grateful to you ma'am, your team and the entire team at RSV Hospital for helping me start my motherhood journey in all health and happiness.
